Subject: John Edward Hebblethwaite, Gillingham or Cypus?

Message: I am trying to trace John Hebblethwaite who was born in Bracknall, Berkshire, on 08.01.1943. I think he went to Napier Rd. Primary School in Gillingham, then Gillingham Grammar School for Boys. He worked for the Commonwealth Relations Office in London after leaving Gillingham Grammar School, before joining the RAF as a Pilot Officer when he was about 19-20. 

He married Annette King in 1965. They had a son, David, not sure when. John and Annette divorced. When I last saw him (1975) I think he was stationed at RAF Cottesmore, near Oakham. As far as I can find out, John retired from the RAF on his birthday in 1981 (aged 38) as a Flt.Lieutenant. He would have turned 65 January 2008.

John had a younger brother, Brian, and younger sister, Margaret. His father was Walter (Wally - who had relatives in Yorkshire and was in the Policeforce) and his mother was Betty.

I have a feeling he may have bought a property in Cyprus - he was stationed in Limosol at some stage I think. He could have retired over there?
