Subject: James Hebblethwaite (Tasmanian poet) and Hebblethwaites from Goosnargh, near Preston

Message: My great grandfather is the Tasmanian poet James Hebblethwaite that you refer to on your website. I am seeking information on his family. James was born at Preston, Lancashire on 22/9/1857.  His father was William Hebblethwaite (also of Preston) and his mother was Margaret Cundall. They were married at St John's Church in 1847. He also had three younger sisters of which I do not know their names. James was the Headmaster of St Mark's School for eleven years prior to departing to Tasmania. I am hoping that someone may be able to help me with information about James, William and the names of his three sisters.

Further note 2 June 2006: I have received a number of helpful e-mails. I am now seeking further assistance with any information about William or Margaret Hebblethwaite from this area, dating from around 1750 onwards.
