My gg aunt Jane Dixon Horsfield
married John Hebblethwaite at Orton, Westmorland in 1861. His father was
Thomas and mother Margaret nee Major. John was a twin and the other was
called Brian. He also had a brother called Thomas.
Jane & John had children
William b.1863, Thomas E b. 1866 & Mary Hannah b.1869. I only found
Jane as a widow and Thomas listed on the 1881 Census in Westmorland. Another
daughter Jane Ann was mentioned but other sources had no mention of her
or her date of birth.
There was a Margaret Hebblethwaite
listed as a visitor to a family called Sanderson in Orton, Westmorland
on the 1881 Census. Also visiting at the same house was another possible
relative Jane Cowperthwaite.
There my knowledge ends.
